Richard Peets Obituary

Formerly of Middletown, NY

Richard D. Peets recently moved from Springdale, AR to Cheyenne, WY has passed away July 24, 2008. He was 74 years old.

He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Agnes; three sons, Richard, Christopher (Spouse Kim), and Mathew (Spouse Karen) and his daughter, Therese Jelinski (Spouse Charles). He also had numerous nieces and nephews and nine grandchildren.

His parents Samuel and Mildred Peets, a sister, Ruth Cutler, and a brother, Clifford preceded him in death.

Born in Middletown, NY on June 29, 1934 and raised in Howells, he graduated Middletown High School in 1953. He attended college while he worked a variety of jobs. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1957 and served in the Quartermaster Corps. He was discharged from service in January 1959. He then met the love of his life Agnes Leinpinsel. They married in January 1960. The young couple worked mostly in New York a number of years before moving to Florida, then Texas and subsequently finally settling in Arkansas.

Richard loved family and enjoyed exploring family ancestral roots and making photo albums. An avid Baseball Fan his favorite team was the Houston Astros and his favorite player was Nolan Ryan. He was able to name most of the players during any pennant games. He also collected vast amounts of baseball cards and memorabilia through the years. He was always an optimist and friendly to anyone who had the pleasure to meet him; he always saw the lighter side of life.

All that knew him will be sorely miss his presence.

He will be buried in Middletown, NY at a later determined date and time.

A celebration of Richard's life and memorial services will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 29 at 1 p.m. A Honor Guard will be present afterwards to commemorate his service to his country.

Donations of behalf of Richard may be placed with Wiederspahn-Radomsky or given to the family.
