Richard Poynton Obituary

Formerly of Warwick, N.Y.

Richard C. Poynton, 65, a resident of Hawley, Pa., formerly of Warwick, N.Y., died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at home.

He was born in Suffern, N.Y., the son of Mildred D. Ruby Poynton and the late Richard C. Poynton.

Richard was a Paper Technologist for Champion Paper prior to his retirement ten years ago. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963; was a member of Hawley United Methodist Church; was a former member of the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church; and was a member of the Warwick Rod & Gun Club. He also coached Little League Baseball and football for many years in Warwick, N.Y.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann M. (Bublitz) Poynton of Hawley, Pa.; three sons: Charles R. Poynton and fiancée, Jodie Ince of New Hampton, N.Y., Todd A. Poynton and wife, Valarie of Johnson, N.Y. and Tim Poynton and wife, Christine of Clinton, Mass.; his mother, Mildred Poynton of Surprise, Ariz.; a sister, Dorothy Nagy and husband, Julius of Surprise, Ariz.; and three grandchildren: Andrew Henneman, Taylor and Thomas Poynton.

Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 17, at 10 a.m. in the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, 1387 Kings Hwy., Sugar Loaf, N.Y. Interment will be in Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, N.Y.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Wayne Unit, 110 4th St., Suite 9-12, Honesdale, PA 18431-1869; the Salvation Army or the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 98, Bellvale, NY 10912.
