Robert Acton Obituary

Mr. Robert Acton Sr., of Waco, Texas, a professional painter and paperhanger and former resident of Port Jervis, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in Waco, Texas. He was 80.

He was born April 23, 1926, the son of the late Joseph and the late Ida Acton.

An Army veteran, he was a Past Commander and member of the Roosa-Fleming VFW Post No. 161 and Color Guard in Port Jervis.

Surviving are five sons: Robert Acton Jr. of Sparrowbush, David Acton of Keysville, Va., Lee Acton of Godeffroy, Bruce Acton of Keysville, Va., Brian Acton of Keysville, Va.; four daughters: Donna Mosteller of Ft. Myers, Fla., Paula Maureaux of Port Jervis, Valerie Acton of Bellemead, Texas, Andrea Acton of Seymour, Colo.; one sister: Dorothy Tibbitts of Connecticut; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Thelma Utter.

A memorial service will be held at the Roosa-Fleming VFW Post No. 161, Owen St., Port Jervis at a date and time to be announced.

Burial will be in Waco, Texas.
