Robert J. "Bob" Janusz

Robert J. "Bob" Janusz of Greenfield Park, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at home. He was 61.

The son of Joseph and Josephine Golembiewski Janusz, he was born on October 15, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY.

On August 5, 1964, Bob joined the United States Marine Corps, and served our country until August 2, 1968, at which time he moved to the area. He then joined the Army Reserve and served for 13 years. On June 24, 1971, Bob married Nelva Barbosa in Ellenville, NY. They settled in Greenfield Park where they started and raised their family. He was employed as a foreman for over 30 years for the VAW and was presently a material handler for Kohl's Distribution Center in Wurtsboro, NY. Being very proud of his accomplishments, Bob enjoyed war movies, history, 50 & 60's music, having family time, as well as his own time, and collecting guns.

Survivors include his wife, Nelva at home; one daughter, Christine Robinson and her husband, Robert of North Carolina; one son, Joseph M. Janusz of North Miami Beach, FL; his mother, Josephine Janusz and sister, Wanda Janusz, both of Ocala, FL; his sister, Margaret Gorton of Claryville; his best friend for over 48 years, Emanuel "Yogi" DelTerzo and several nieces, nephews and many in-laws.

He was predeceased by his father, one son, Robert, Jr. and one sister, Catherine.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY.

Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, Route 55, Grahamsville, NY with full military honors.
