As boys, Ronnie and I spent many hours together playing, shooting BB guns, riding horses, hunting, etc. I was raised next door to him and we sure did have fun. It seems that we managed to get into suprisingly little trouble for the continuous mischief we found. One of our favorite fun times was to find something to ride down hill. We rode tobogans, sleds, card board boxes, old auto hoods, and in the summer we even rigged up a horse trailer onto which I fastened soap box derby wheels to the front and we used bead rails for breaks. We pushed it up the road past my house and loaded it up with kids. His dad sure had a fit when he saw his old trailer, now with four wheels, fly past the house with six yellin boys, hair a flying, laughing part from fright and part from the thrill and danger of a fourty mile an hour open trailer ride. We did some county fair time together. He even told me about meeting a girl named Connie Minnow. Ronnie was the closest thing to a brother I had in those days. Eleven Marsh kids and me. We ate at each others tables, shared joys and sorrows, worked, chased pigs, drove tractors, went fishing, picked Blue berries, and even got scared by a bear together. Though we have been apart these many years I surely do miss my friend. Never knew how much I loved hil till I heard that he was in a battle with cancer. There is a big hole in my heart today and I miss my friend.
