THOMAS CROCI Obituary



Wurtsboro, NY

Thomas Vito Croci, Sr, "Tom" to those who knew and loved him, died Sunday, May 30, at the Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis, he was 69 years old.

An employee of the Parks Department and Department of Sanitation for the Borough of Hillsdale, NJ, Tom was a longtime resident of the area.

The son of the late, William and Daisy DeGroat Croci, Tom was born in Mahwah, NJ on April 8, 1941.

He was an avid fisherman, loved hunting, and had a well known talent for gardening.

A family statement reads, "If you knew Tom, you knew fun, because he was always good for a laugh."

He will be well remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 46 ½ years, Audrey Ann McMahon Croci, at home; his son, Thomas Croci, Jr, and his fianceé, Jamie Gentry of Kerhonkson; his beloved daughter, Tammy Croci of Wurtsboro; his two sisters, Betty McMahon of Wurtsboro and Rita Lohr and her husband, Dennis of Middletown; and his grandson, Anthony Croci of Wurtsboro.

In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother, William Croci, and his sisters, Carmella Keller and Patricia Croci.

Tom's family would like to express a sincere thanks to the staff of Bon Secours Hospital, and especially, Dr. Daniel C. Wolff and nurses, Kelly and Erica, for their compassion and care. A special thank you is also extended to Pastor Elijah Cooper and his wife Gail for their continued support, and to everyone who has helped the Croci family through this difficult time.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 2, from 5-9 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street, in Wurtsboro.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Elijah Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery, in Bloomingburg.
