Vanessa Rivera Obituary

Ms. Vanessa Rivera of Garrison, NY, a former resident of Port Jervis, lost her battle with Aplastic Anemia on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York City. She was 26.

She was born September 28, 1978 in Port Jervis, the daughter of Donna Douglas and Efrain Rivera.

A 1996 graduate of Port Jervis High School, she later graduated from Sullivan County Community College and Panama City Beach Culinary Institute, Panama City Beach, FL.

Surviving are her mother, Donna Douglas of Wurtsboro, NY; father, Efrain Rivera of Greenville Township, NY; fiance Jeff Noah Fort Meyer, FL; maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Corey of Greenville Township, NY, also aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Wednesday, January 5, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2005 with a prayer at 10 a.m. at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Wurtsboro with Rev. Peter Madori officiating.

Burial will be at Westbrookville Cemetery, Westbrookville, NY.
