Virginia Coleman-Hall Obituary

Virginia M. Coleman-Hall, a 45-year resident of Dutchess County, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 63. The daughter of the late Herman Coleman Sr. and Dorothy Mae Williams Coleman, she was born Dec. 16, 1942 in Orange, Va. She was a retired senior buyer for IBM in Fishkill with 25 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Beacon where she served as church clerk and secretary. She was most noted for her affiliation with OIC of America and served as a dedicated Board Chairperson of (HVOIC) Hudson Valley Opportunities Industrialization Center for Dutchess and Orange Counties. Her extensive travel on Behalf of HVOIC led to the implementation of a skills training and employment program in the Hudson Valley. Mrs. Hall has been honored by world renowned officials such as Dr. Ralph D. Abernathy, Julian Bonds, Andrew Young, Dr. Leon Sullivan, Joseph Lowery and Coretta Scott-King for her diligence and commitment to OIC of America. She was a life-member of the Northern Dutchess Chapter of the NAACP. Her awards for outstanding community service were noted by: The Empire State of Woman's and Youth Clubs, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and OIC of America and Black Achievers. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 42 years, Samuel "Bubba" Hall at home; three daughters, Timoline E. Hall of Beacon, and Mozelle Hicks of Kittrell, N.C. and Wanda Hall of Poughkeepsie; two grandchildren, Tahirah Willis of Beacon and Kyrin Perez of Kittrell; two sons, Bruce Hall and Artis Hall both of Newburgh; two brothers, Herman Coleman Jr. and wife Gloria of Orange Va. and Leroy Coleman of Fishkill; sister Doris Carter of Orange, Va.; mother-in-law Jeffie Huggins of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; six godchildren, Sherry King of Leland, N.C., Cheryl, Sandra, Ike and Julius Carrington and Jessica Davis all of Beacon; three sisters-in-law Geraldine Garrett of Chelsea, Bernice Ross and husband Ralph, Helen Hall and husband John all of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catharine Street, Poughkeepsie. Service will begin at 12 noon. The Rev. Jesse V. Bottoms Jr. will officiate. The eulogy by the Rev. Ronald O. Perry Sr. Interment will be held at Mt. Holy Baptist Church Cemetery, Orange, Va.

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY. VIRGINA WAS A CO-WORKER AT IBM AND WE ALSO USED TO CAR POOL. SHE WAS A GREAT AND GOOD PERSON! THE WORLD IS A SADDER PLACE TODAY AT HER PASSING.
