William Coffey Obituary

William F. Coffey, Sr., 79, a lifelong resident of Highland Falls, New York, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 28, 2007.

He was born on June 20, 1928 in Highland Falls, New York to the late James and Elizabeth Stamm Coffey.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was married to Rita M. Curran Coffey. They shared a wonderful, loving marriage for fifty-one years.

William worked at West Point for 40 years as an exterminator and volunteered for the Highland Falls Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Rita, at home; daughter, Darlene and her husband Ed Koffer of Fort Montgomery, New York; son, Bill and his wife Susan of Fort Montgomery, New York; three grandchildren: Nicole, Billy and Katie; and brother, Donald and his wife Helen Coffey of Bloomingdale, New Jersey.

He was predeceased by parents, James and Elizabeth Coffey; brother, Jimmy; sister, Elizabeth, and brother, Joseph. He was a kind and loving man to all that knew him.

Friends may call on today, Friday, June 29, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls, New York.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main Street, Highland Falls, New York, with the Rev. Jack Arlotta officiating. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main Street, Highland Falls, New York 10928.

Funeral arrangements were made by William F. Hogan Funeral Home, Highland Falls, New York.
