William Quill Obituary

William Quill of Wallkill, a retired Structural Steel Fabricator for Middletown Structural Steel,and a 30-year resident of the area, died December 2, 2006, in New York City. He was 73.

The son of Daniel and Catherine Molloy Quill, he was born June 12, 1933 in the Bronx, N.Y. He and his wife Elaine were licensed with the NY State Foster Care and actively involved with the Vietnamese minor program. Bill was also a heart transplant recipient at age 69.

A family statement reads: " The family would like everyone to know that Bill was a loyal, loving husband, caring father and proud grandfather. He spent a lifetime helping others with never the expectation of anything in return. He was a heart transplant recipient and champion of the organ donor program. His credo was "Don't take your organs to heaven... Heaven knows we need them here." Although deeply saddened by his departure, we invite all to come celebrate his life."

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Teutul Quill at home; daughter, Catherine Burke and her husband, Michael and their children, Meghan and Jimmy; a son, William Quill and his wife, Sandy and their children, Justin and Colin; a daughter, Kerry Serrao and her husband, Gregory and their children: Nicholas, Lauren and Lindsey; son, Keith Quill and his wife, Andrea and their children, Kyle and Aiden; a son, Shane Quill and his wife, Jennifer and their children, Kira and Zacky, and a son, Shawn Quill and his wife, Stefanie. Two sisters, Florence Green of the Bronx and Patricia McGrath of Northport, Long Island and many nieces and nephews also survive.

He was predeceased by three brothers: Daniel, Joseph and Alman.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2006 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, N.Y.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, at Most Precious Blood Church, Walnut St., Walden, N.Y. Burial will be in Bruynswick Rural Cemetery in Wallkill, N.Y.

Arrangements were made by Millspaugh Funeral Directors.
