Robert Swanson Obituary
July 29, 2024
Robert John Swanson, age 59, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by family after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer. He is survived by: his mother, Lucy Swanson; his sister, Anna Swanson; his children, Nyssa (Troy) Watkins and Corey (Kali) Swanson; three grandchildren; and many other loving friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick Swanson.
Robert was actively involved in his communities, both in Honor, Michigan and in St. Petersburg, Florida. He served as a Board Member of his local chapter of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club, served, for a time, as an officer of his community housing association in Florida, hosted Bingo nights, participated in charity motorcycle rides, volunteered to do sound and lights for local plays and productions, and offered his services as a DJ through Deadstream DJs. He was most proud of his service in the US Army where he answered the call to serve his nation in two wars. Robert never missed an opportunity to step up when his community needed him and his entire life embodies a creed of service, commitment, and community. He will be sorely missed.

Robert was a special person; always with a smile and funny comment even while battling cancer. Bingo will never be the same without your fun comments and antics. I have said it to your face and will repeat it here for posterity, thanks for all you did for our HOA. And a final thanks for your military service. You are already sorely missed here on earth but I know you believed in Jesus and I will see you again someday my friend.
May the Lord comfort you within His loving arms in this time of grief Lucy, Christine, Mike, Sue, family and dear friends; giving you peace, love, comfort, and strength to carry you forward.

Robert was a funny thoughtful guy. His antics at BINGO always made me smile. I'll never play BINGO again without thinking of Robert every time B1 is called. He always said the most famous bingo ball of all is B1 and I'll never forget that. May he rest in peace.

Robert was funny and thoughtful. He always showed respect to his mother they traveled together on his motorcycle. I know that they had lots of fun together! He is going to be missed by everyone that knew him! Gods blessing be with you !!
