BRYAN CASTOR Memoriam

BRYAN LINDEN CASTOR October 8, 1978 ~ December 9, 2017 Bryan Linden Castor, 39, of Red Bluff died unexpectedly Dec. 9, 2017. Born to Doyle and Rose Castor on Oct. 8, 1978, Bryan attended Reeds Creek Elementary, graduating in 1993 and attended Mercy High School where he played football prior to transferring to Red Bluff High School's Home Study program where he graduated in 1997. Following graduation, Bryan entered the US Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in December 1997. During his time in the service he earned a badge for his rifle marksmanship. He served for one year and 11 months, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal, before being honorably discharged for medical reasons. Returning to Red Bluff, Bryan worked for a time at Red Bluff Ford. He was well-known and loved in the community as a goofy, fun-loving guy. Among his accomplishments is included studying at Le Cordon Bleu in Las Vegas and San Francisco, which he undertook in February 2008. He was life flighted to a hospital in San Francisco on Sept. 30, 2017, where he underwent an emergency surgery to remove the C5 and C6 vertebrae in his spine that had collapsed, due to a hereditary tumor, leaving him wheelchair bound. Bryan is preceded in death by his father Doyle Linden Castor and his brother Aaron Doyle Castor. Survivors include his mother Rose Castor, his brother Russell Castor and nephew Jonathan and niece Emylee, his sister Suzanne (Bryce) Drummond and nephews David and Toby, all of Red Bluff; Grandparents Elmer (Faye) Castor of Bandera, Texas and Grandpa Johnson Lee of Red Bluff. Services will be held at noon on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at the Veterans Cemetery in Igo. A procession, with the Patriot Guards as escorts, will be departing from Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers, 816 Walnut St., in Red Bluff at 11 a.m., anyone wishing to participate is welcome to follow, but should arrive no later than 10:45 a.m.
