KENNETH EUGENE ANDERSON

Kenneth Eugene Anderson was called home January 28th, 2012 in Reno, Nevada. He was 76 years old. He was born on February 14th, 1935 in Albion, Nebraska to the late John and Sarah Anderson.

He married Miss Barbara Morey in 1952 in Red Bluff, California. He joined the Navy in 1952 and served on the USS Dealey during the Korean War. His medals include the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Korean War Medal. He completed his tour in the Navy in 1956. He later went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration as an Operations Specialist and later as an Air Traffic Controller working at control centers throughout California before retiring in 1985. He always loved aviation and gained his private pilot's license in 1957.

He is survived by his daughter Lorraine Cox and husband Rea of Red Bluff, California; son Steven Anderson and wife Sara of Godwin, North Carolina; daughter Cindy Chavez and husband Johnny of Modesto, California. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Matthew Cox, Josh Cox and Heather Cox; Melanie Franklin and husband John and Sandra Happel and husband John; Johnny Chavez, Jr and wife Rachel, Jessica Jiminez and husband Jesse, Tony Chavez, Steven Chavez, and Jewel Chavez. He also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren, Savannah Schmitz, Jordan Franklin and Aiden Franklin, Henry Happel and Hailey Happel and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.

He leaves behind his loving siblings: brother Arnold Anderson and wife Gloria of Sacramento, California; sister Donna Wentzel and husband John of Sacramento, California; sister Arlene Dierksen and husband Dennis of Cottonwood, California; and brother John Anderson and wife Carol of Terrell, Texas.

Ken was predeceased by his daughter Deborah in 1969, wife Barbara in 1988, and sister Betty Streamer and husband Jim in 2011.

A celebration of Ken's life will be held during a graveside service at 10:00am on Monday, February 6th, 2012 in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Red Bluff, California. Arrangements are being handled by Hoyt-Cole Funeral Home in Red Bluff, California. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Ken's name to your favorite charity.
