Christopher died in his home surrounded by family on July 3, 2018, he was 75 years of age. He was born March 25, 1943, minutes before his twin sister Judy in Susanville, California to Clinton and Do-Be Peltier. At age three Chris moved to Redding.

During his teens, Chris served as an engineer on the family's boat the Yellowfin. The family served as the boat's crew and made several trips to Central America.

Chris became "the man of the family" at 17 when his father was killed in a house fire. He took on new duties including much of the ranch-work.

Chris attended Shasta Junior College and the California Maritime Academy. He received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from California State University Chico in 1975.

He was selected (drafted) by Uncle Sam in 1967, to serve in the United States Army. He left for Vietnam July 4, 1967, where he served with the 4th Infantry Division. In 1968, he and his brothers and sisters in arms participated in a Vietnamese holiday celebrating the lunar new year. The ensuing battle is known as the Tet Offensive. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, 2 O/S bars, and was honorably discharged as a sergeant.

In 1983, he married Linda Parry. They raised their three children in Redding and enjoyed many days together on their ranch in Igo, California. Chris enjoyed sharing colorful stories with friends and family.

Chris is survived by his wife Linda, his children Rebecca, Adam, and Jacques. He leaves his eight siblings: His twin sister Judy McDonald, Sally Harvey, Sue Peltier; Tim Peltier, Lillian Arnold, Amy Smith, Tom Peltier and Jennifer Portz. He leaves many nieces and nephews as well as grand-nieces and nephews.

Service and burial will be at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery on July 17th, 2018 at 11:00am. If you wish to donate in Chris' memory, he was a member of the Nor-Cal Veterans Historical Association Inc. www.norcalvha.org.

My sincerest condolences to the Chris Peltier family. I met Chris while attending the California Maritime Academy in 1963.
I remember his parents large family home in Redding. Chris & I made a trip down to the MV Yellowfin docked at a pier in Alameda estuary in S.F. Bay. Chris started and tested the main engines & generators. That little ship still sails the waters of Puget Sound, WA. as the MV Pacific Yellowfin. The current owners keep her in beautiful condition.
Chris & his large family have been in my memory for years. Fair seas and followings winds Chris.

My sincerest condolences to the Peltier Family on Chris's passing.

I met Chris, a couple of decades ago, at the old Peltier homestead in Igo and ran into him dozens of times at that same location. (I would normally be taking advantage of the shade of an oak tree for report-writing purposes).

Chris was a unique personality and had a great sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed our discussions on wildlife, agriculture and the history of the Peltier Ranch. The last time I ran into him he was rummaging through a clearance table of tools and hardware at Orchard Supply.

I will remember our contacts with a particular fondness.

My warmest thoughts to the Peltier's in the future.

To the Peltier Family:

My sincere condolences to all of you on Chris's passing.

I met Chris , a couple of decades ago, at the Igo Cemetery and ran into him at that same location dozens of times thereafter. (I would normally be taking advantage of the shade of an oak tree, for report-writing purposes, when Chris would show-up).

Chris was a unique personality, and had a great sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed our discussions on plants, wildlife, local history and the Peltier Ranch. After my retirement, I saw him sporadically, the last time at Orchard Supply Hardware, while rummaging through a clearance table of tools and hardware.

Chris will be missed and I will recall our meetings with particular fondness.

My warmest thoughts to all of you in the future.
