Diana Kohler

1959 - 2013

Diana Kohler, 53, of Redding, CA passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013.

Diana was born in San Antonio, TX to the late Augustina Peña and the late Ignacio Luera. At the age of five, she moved to San Jose, CA, where she resided for 17 years.

During her years in San Jose, Diana enjoyed cooking, swimming, shopping, and spending time with her three sisters and best friends. A free, loving spirit, Diana married her husband, Kirk, in 1979. She later gave birth to her two sons, Kirk and Jason.

In 1981, Diana and her family began their adventures outside of California, living in Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, Idaho, Washington, Texas, and Pennsylvania. In between moves, the family purchased their first house in Redding, CA, which they considered home.

Throughout her married years, Diana dedicated her time to being a homemaker, caring for her family and pets. In her later years, despite dealing with major illnesses and the passing of her husband in 2004, she lived life to the fullest. Displaying her fighting spirit till the end, Diana continued her favorite hobbies of cooking and shopping as well as traveling and trying her luck at the casino.

Diana is survived by her sons, Kirk R. Kohler (wife Martha) and Jason Kohler (wife Cassie); her sisters, Martha Peña, Socorro Martinez, and Anjelica Luera; her dogs, Cookie and Pablo.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 19th at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel (2655 Eureka Way, Redding, CA). Donations can be made to Diana's memorial fund with Easter Seals Disability Services at: http://goo.gl/8bphE.
