Jason Phillips Obituary
New Years Day Jason was a victim of tragic circumstances and passed away January 8, 2011.
Those who knew Jason will remember him having a heart as big as he was, and great bear hugs too!
He will be sadly missed by his loving family and many friends and acquaintances. He was a stranger to no one.
He is survived by his loving mother Brenda Phillips and Bill Popejoy of Shasta Lake, his sister Renee Padilla and family, his daughter Madelyn Phillips and his faithful and beloved dog Ozzy. He was preceded in death by his father Russell H. Phillips.

i cant really believe this i read on tv for the first time yesterday after the fact. this is horrible i just seen jason not that long ago. i am really not cool with this and i can only send my condolences to his loved ones. id like to know where he was laid to rest.

I went to school with Jason and I can remember him being one of the guys crying his senior year at their last basketball game because he was done playing in his high school days. He was always so nice and always had a smile on his face. Very sorry to hear he had to leave us so soon. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

When Jason came to my house for the first time, we only met for a minute, and I had to go grocery shopping. Well, jokingly, I told my husband that I had to go to WINCO early so I wouldnt miss the crowds for spanging (asking strangers for money)so my kids wouldnt be hungry. Jason over heard me say that, and didnt know my sense of humor yet, and thought I was serious. An hour later he returned with 4 paper bags of groceries.
This is the Jason I remember.

I adored Jason. He was fun loving, charismatic and genuine. I bought Cap N Crunch today and even when Jason was still with us, always think of him when picking these boxes up from the shelves. I will miss him. Hang in there Brenda and Renee!! I'm sure Jason's big strong arms hold you in his embrace always.
Jasoon loved his daughter more than anything in the world.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Jasons passing. He was one of the funniest guys I have ever known. I will miss the times when we were all kids staying up all night and playing super mario and eating dry captain crunch. You will be missed jason, but never forgotten.

I would like to offer my conductance to Jason's family and to say this was a fine young man. I remember him coming over to our house when we lived on moon shadow, tall polite driving his El Camino. Words are hard to express coming from the heart about his tragic passing. I pray for him and his family and believe that wonderful smile he's wearing in his picture is how he is right now, for his life was short but it was full of goodness.
