Marie Costello Camarena

Redding - Marie Costello Camarena was born on July 6, 1940 in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Arlyne and Leonard Foreman. She passed away on August 30, 2020, at 80 years of age.

Marie was the second of 6 children, having 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Her family moved to Crescent City, Ca, when she was young. She lived on California's north coast until she moved to Redding with her 5 children in 1967.

It was there she met Peter Costello and they were married in 1981.

She later met Jess Camarena and they were married in 2007.

Marie was a resident and active member of the Redding community for over 50 years.

She wore many hats during her working years. She drove a rural mail route, was an educational aide, seamstress, bookkeeper and office manager.

She volunteered with many local organizations.

She most enjoyed her years working with children in the school system and continued on as a long-term volunteer for many years.

Marie was a lifetime member of Rho Mu/Gamma Epsilon Sorority. She enjoyed outdoor activities and traveling.

Marie had many talents. She was an accomplished carver whose wild life carvings sold in galleries. She learned carpentry from her father. She remodeled homes, built cabinets and furniture. Her creative talents were too many to list.

Marie's greatest joy came from family and her golfing community.

Marie was predeceased by her father and mother, her husband Peter Costello, and her son Tony McComb.

She is survived by her husband Jess Camarena, her children, step-children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a large extended family.

Marie touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was loved immensely and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at her home on September 26, 2020, at 12 p.m.
