Uncle Dick, I spent more time with you growing up than any of my uncles. We had more memories and that made you my favorite. You always had a smile for me, and me for you. Thanks for taking me to the fair when I was a teenager. Thanks for my monstrous lemon too. You were always a giver and a joker. Thanks for always making me laugh and for loving my Mom and your sisters so much. Give yourself and everyone a big kiss and hug for me. I love you and will miss you! Your favorite (Just Kidding) niece, Julie.

Remembering Uncle Dick! how could you not remember a man who's laugh & giggle could fill a whole room with smiles.... i could be in a football stadium full of people & he could laugh & i would instantly know he was there.... when i was young he was so full of life & i remember how he treated all the kids (like they were somebody too) he made you feel special by taking the time to talk with you... to this very day i do the same to all kids because of him... but now you have left us... to be with the rest of our family... they are waiting for you now... thanks for being my Uncle... loveu I DO;)

My father, Jim Pereira, was a resident at Windsor for a few months. During his rehab period he and Dick became great friends. I would drive up every week from Sacramento to spend a couple of days and I, during those visits, became very fond of him, as well. He was so sweet toward me, my daughter and granddaughter. My little five year-old granddaughter Zaria insisted that we bring him a pack of red vines every time she tagged along. When Dad was released almost a year ago, he came to live with me in Sacramento. Oft times he reminisces of Dick and their chat sessions around the outside "smokers' lounge" and most always sharing a table in the dining area. A very special man your spouse, father, sibling was. We all send our heart-felt condolences and love to all of you. Bless him.
