Richard Ross Obituary

REDDING - Richard Eugene Ross was born on February 10, 1954 at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. He passed away on February 29, 2008, at the age of 54, after a long series of illnesses.

He was a loving and dedicated father, son, brother, and uncle. He leaves behind a son and daughter, Ricky and Ashley Ross, of Redding. He loved his children very much and was so very proud of them. He always enjoyed sitting on his porch watching Ashley practice gymnastics and watching Ricky practice his golf swing. One of his favorite past times was sitting down and visiting with family and friends.

He leaves behind his loving mother, Helen Ross, who stayed by his side all the way to the end. He also leaves behind his caring stepfather Sheldon Colosio, his best friend and brother Michael (Cindy) Ross, niece Danielle (Lee) Ross-Ward , niece Nichole (Richard) Hicks, great niece and nephew Kourtnie and Kurtis Hicks, nephew Lance Ross, and mother of his children, Shelley Ross, all from Redding, as well as other family and friends. Proceeding him in death is his father, Raymond Eugene Ross, whom he will stand with and watch over his family until they meet again.

Graveside services for family and friends will be held Friday, March 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Whiskeytown Cemetery. Arraignments are being handled by Allen and Dahl in Redding.

Helen, I am so sad to hear you've lost Rick. I have fond memories of him from Nova. My last memory of him was when I saw you with him when we were out for breakfast just a couple years ago. I'll always remember his smile, his dimples and his kind & gentle way. It saddens me greatly to know you've lost him. You are in my thoughts.
