Dear Kevin, Chris, Tim, Gail & Trish,
I was deeply saddened to hear that we have lost your Dad, though I'm glad he wasn't in too much pain at the end. What a remarkable man, what a remarkable life, what an amazing legacy of love and hope he has left in all of you (and now, in the next generation, in your own families). He and my father, Ed, were as close as your mom and my mother, Sue, were. And I'm sure the four of them are together in a better place, basking in each other's company and catching up on the news.
I always respected your Dad's quiet, good-humored take on life and his steady unwavering support of his family and friends. I've never forgotten his stories of the peacefulness he felt in sailing alone sometimes on Whiskeytown Lake. He said he was sometimes lulled asleep, at evening, under that wide sky and the surrounding hills rising from the water. It's all open-water sailing for him now.
The world will be a smaller place without him but also a far richer place because of his presence. How lucky we all are to have been blessed with his presence in our lives for so many years. God Bless you, Bob Gosney! I know I speak for myself and my parents when I say, it was an honor and a source of deep satisfaction to have known you.
My love and heartfelt condolences to you all.

Kevin,
I am saddened to learn about the loss of your father. The support from family and friends as well as the lifetime of memories will comfort you as it did us when we lost both parents 2-1/2 years ago.

Dad,
To the very best father a son could hope to have and to the best man that I have ever known. Thank-you for setting an example of a life well-lived for so many of us to follow.
With so much respect, thanks and everlasting love. Rest now and Godspeed to that better place.
