Ronald Young Obituary

Ronald Allen Young

Shasta Lake, CA

February 26, 1935 - May 7, 2018

FRIEND TO ALL, STRANGER TO NONE!

This best describes the man that everyone loved!

Born in Syracuse NY and moved to Santa Monica, Ca. when he was 19. He opened his first Automotive shop where he worked as a mechanic. He moved to Summit City Ca in 1973 and established Ron Young's Automotive, retiring in 2006 where his son Guy continues to run the business today.

Auto Racing was his passion and Lake Shasta was his favorite place on earth, and would spend as much time there as he could. He had every kind of boat you could think of over his life, and enjoyed taking his family camping and fishing. After retirement, he worked for Silverthorn Resort as a shuttle driver. He loved talking to the guests and sharing the lake with them. It was there that his co-workers gave him the name "Papa Ron". He was also a volunteer for the Sheriff's Dept. in Shasta Lake. His love for the city and dedication to the people gave him the well deserved "Citizens of the year" award.

He will be Forever Loved by his wife Shirley, his 10 Children, Debbie, Patty, Pam, Susie, Sue, Jill, Jane and the golden child, Guy! As well as his 26 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. (Preceding him in death, His mother, Kim and Tim.)

A pot luck / celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 18th @ 5:30pm.
