Sara Ann Bentley Obituary
She was preceded in death by her parents Fredrick and Alma Stahl, Dr. and Mrs. T.A. Chappelear, daughter Judith Ann Burt, niece Carolyn Irby, first husband Sgt. (Retired) John C. Chappelear, second husband Edward T. Bentley. She is survived by her son John M. Chappelear, daughter Karen M. Chappelear, grandsons Cameron Riley, Jerry Burt, Logan and Derek Christianson, five great grandchildren, sister Mildred Eckard, nephews William and Daryl Eckard and families, step sons Clyde and Mark Bentley and their families.
Sally loved to garden and travel. She was a volunteer at the Discovery Shop, Turtle Bay, and the Cascade Theater. She was an active member and deacon at First Presbyterian Church. She moved to Redding 30 years ago after living in many different states and countries (W. Germany and Panama).
Memorial services will be held Thursday November 1, 2007 at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Redding. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the following; American Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Arthritis Foundation, or Turtle Bay.

Karen and family,
I'm so sorry for our loss. Sally was an exceptional person who has, without a doubt, genuinely touched me and my family. Mom Chappelear was a very good friend. Sally has and always will have my utmost respect and admiration. We will miss her immensely. My heart goes out to you and yours and the countless people Sally has touched.

Sara and I were friends through school and graduated together in 1955. She visited me in Virginia in 2005 and we attended our 50th class reunion together in Md. I will miss her terribly and send my love and condolences to Karen and Mildred.

In memory of my sister Sally I will remember the great times we had in Ca. in 2006 and all the times you visted in Hagerstown. I will miss you. You were not only a SISTER but a great Friend.

karen, and famliy I'm so sorry for your loss. I knew her as karen's mom in high school and would later see her around town and always ask how karen was doing and she would give me an update. To me she had never changed, she looked the same as she did when karen and I were in high school. I will be thinking of you karen, please give me a call.

Sally was my friend for nearly 12 years. She was one of the first people I met when I moved to Redding. Through the years, we shared laughter, advise, hugs and some great lunches. I'm a better person for knowing her and I will miss her very much. My heart goes to her family and the many who loved her.
