Steven Mac Arthur Hayward

Cottonwood, AZ - Steven was born on July 29, 1997 in Redding, CA and passed away on April 7, 2021. He was raised by his mom and dad, Robin and Steven, and his grandparents, Mac and Vicky. He shared an inseparable bond with his sisters, Dani and Skyler, from birth onward and deeply loved his brother, Brandon. Steve grew up in Cottonwood and moved down to Los Angeles and attended Santa Monica College for two years, studying political science. He fell in love with his high school sweetheart and had his daughter, Stevey Marie. He moved back to Cottonwood to raise his family and to be surrounded by family while raising his child. He loved to mountain bike, work out, meditate, listen to Joe Rogan podcasts, travel, giggle with his sisters, game with his brother, promote Bernie Sanders beliefs, being an uncle, and to be in the outdoors. He believed knowledge was power and was constantly building his intellect. He practiced mindfulness daily and shared the awareness with those who surrounded him. He was proud to be a Wintu native. His best friend growing up was his cousin Michael. He always loved, protected, and provided strength to his sisters. He admired Kobe Bryant and his dedication to the game, the Lakers, the Cowboys, and was obsessed with The Lord of the Rings. Steve was a charming, charismatic, confident young man, that lit up every room he walked into. Steve's daughter was his best friend in this world. They held a special father daughter connection. They hiked, traveled, played, taught and learned from each other, painted, and did arts and crafts often. They were each other's biggest supporters. Steven was a great man and a father we all aspire to be like. He had a heart of gold and a love that wrapped around your soul.

He will be deeply missed. Steven will be carried on by is daughter, Stevey Marie. He will be remembered by his sisters, Dani and Sky, brother, Brandon, grandparents, Mac and Vicky, nieces, Willow, Rielyn, Olivea, Kiarrah, and Sidney, nephews, Micah, Jayce, Eli, and Lennon, his cousins, Cody, Mackee, Kaylee, and Charlee, aunt and uncle, Stacey and Charles, the mother of his child, Sophia, brother-in-law, Tyler, and his best friends, Popper, Graham, and many more. The stories of Steven will be passed on through the generations to come. His love will remain in our hearts forever.
