Sunny Lee Campbell passed unexpectedly on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Sunny was born to Sally Ordway on August 15, 1960 in Eureka, California. When she was young, she and her mother lived in Phoenix, AZ and later, Sunny moved back to Eureka and lived with her beloved Nanny. In 1976, she met and fell in love with Alan Campbell. In 1981, they relocated to Redding, California where Alan worked as a journeyman electrician. They were married June 25, 1988. Their son, Jake was born in 1991 and was the love of her life. In 1992, Alan and Sunny started Campbell Electric, a collaborative effort which continues. Alan and Sunny built their dream home on top of the hill in 2009.
Sunny was a lovely, gregarious, social individual-full of life and strongly opinionated in anything she believed in. Sunny was "the best friend a husband could have." She never had an enemy and always made a friend. She was actively and continuously involved with all activities at Bella Vista Elementary and Foothill High schools. She was a committed "football mom" never missed Jake's games and organized Sober Grad nights and coordinated many school activities. Her home was a home away from home and second mom to Jake's friends: Jason, Ryan, Brandon, Dillon, Sam, Eric, Brad, Luke, Kevin, Krista, and others. Christmas and Super Bowls meant a full house.
Sunny loved her animals and welcomed horses, chickens, goats, pigs, cows, cats and dogs; and many feeders for her birds. Strays lucky enough to happen by were welcomed and adopted!
Sunny's home was her castle and she was queen of her kitchen. Family camping trips meant good food from Sunny's portable grill. Weekends on Shasta Lake featured food and more food accompanied by boat loads of friends and family and her beloved Country music aboard the pontoon Boat. Her second love was the San Francisco Forty-niners and her truck. She was an avid reader and loved being around people!
Sunny is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, Alan Campbell, son Jake Campbell, her mother Sally Ordway, Father-in-Law Al "Papa" Campbell; sisters and brothers-in-Law Teresa(Terry) Campbell and Paul Renoud, Linda and Jeff Welter, Marie and Karl Stein; nieces and nephews Danielle Shupe(Mark, Dylan, Brett), Courtney Tilden(Peter), Josh Renoud (Alexandra, Liana), Kyle Welter, Rachel and Emily Stein as well as her Eureka family, Aunt Pat and Uncle Joe(deceased), cousins Tracy, Lena, Lisa, Rita and Terri; Uncle Bill and Aunt Nancy Shwaika, cousins Willie (Brendee); Loni (Danny), Aunt Carol & Uncle Lester, cousins Brett, Benny and Bridgett; Aunt Donna and Uncle George, cousins Cathy and Steven; and many Bunco buddies, best friends Lori and Chris, Tim and Bodie and many, many friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro, 9110 Deschutes Rd. Palo Cedro. Viewing held from 2:00 to 6:00 on Friday, April 20. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 at the Bella Vista Elementary School, 22661 Old Alturas Rd. Bella Vista.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Sunny Campbell, to the Bella Vista Elementary School Foundation: c/o "Sunny Campbell Student Activities Fund" 22661 Old Alturas Road, Bella Vista, California 96008.

A "sunny outlook on life" was named after Sunny. She stood out as a woman of strength, courage and empathy for all who knew her. Heaven will be brighter than ever now that Sunny is there putting some of the angels in order.

Our family will not be the same without Aunt Sunny. She was so easy to talk to and had a way of making everyone feel like a close friend. We'll miss her generous spirit and her amazing Christmas fudge! She was always so sweet to the babies in the family and now they have a guardian angel watching over them. Uncle Alan and Jakie, I wish we could be closer and spend more time with you both. We love you Aunt Sunny!

I was so sorry to hear about Sunny's passing. I only knew her through Sober grad at FHS when my son graduated there but she was such a fun, outgoing person! I will keep your family in my prayers during this difficult time.

My heart felt sorrow goes out to Aunt Sally, Alen, Jake, family and friends. I have often thought of Sunny and her family and had intentions of getting in-touch with her and catching up on life! I regret to say," I failed to keep in touch." I was very moved by the testimonies describing Sunny's beautiful soul. Our very deepest sympathies go out to Sally, Alan, Jake and all extended family and friends. Sunny lived up to her name. She brightened every room. She gave a sense of warmth and comfort to everyone she encountered. She was larger than life with a knack for knowing just where she was needed and always gave of herself for others. We are so thankful to have gotten to know her these last few years and couldn't have been blessed with a better neighbor. She will live in our memories forever. I've known Alan and Sunny since our days in Eureka. It was only through her sister-in-law, Linda, that I got to know her. She was always happy and fun to be around when I saw her at Campbell functions. As the years went by and we all got so involved in our families and careers, I saw her less and less. But there were many times when she would cross my mind and I would smile. Sunny, you are looking down on us from heaven and we are secure in knowing you are at peace and in a wonderful place. I will miss ever having the chance to see you again. God bless you Alan and Jake.

I could never thank Sunny and Alan for all they have done for me through the years... they gave me a home when I didnt have one.... they gave me food when I needed it.... they were alwayse there for me when my home situation got rough..... I cant believe she's really gone....

Sunny was truly a selfless, amazing woman. She had such energy. She could “do it all” and did, touching many lives in the process. I can't imagine Bunco without her. Aunt Sunny was everything it says here and more! She was so full of life and love. She watched me for years when I was young and treated me like her own son . She was "Aunt Honey" to me. As I got older she always was there to help with whatever it was. I lived with them for about six months in their trailer (which wasn't big enough for them alone). I worked around the house and property and slept in the living room while I made enough money to get my own place. They never made me feel unwelcome. I cherish those days I got to spend with her. I will miss her so much. I am so greatfull to have spent a wonderfull Easter with her and having the excitement of an egg hunt with my daughter. That was the first Easter egg hunt in 8 years for our family and I'm glad she was there. Even though she is not here, she will live with us forever. We will miss her dearly.
