Geraldine Patricia Robertson

GERALDINE PATRICIA ROBERTSON Geraldine (Geri) Robertson - mother of three, grandmother of three, great- grandmother of five and a woman devoted to family, church and community - died peacefully on August 7. She was 96. A longtime resident of the Coachella Valley before relocating to Yucaipa after the death of her husband, Ewing, Geri worked in education for 28 years, first in administration for the Coachella School District and later as registrar at Coachella Valley High School. Upon her retirement in 1988, she was remembered by her colleagues, as well as thousands of students and teachers, for her integrity, accuracy and devotion to serving the public school system. She was actively involved with numerous desert charities and organizations, including the Indio Women's Club, the Coachella Valley Historical Society and the First United Methodist Church in Indio. After moving to Yucaipa, she became involved in PEO, Chapter RH, and the United Methodist Church of Yucaipa. In spite of her professional and community activities, Geri's first love was her family. She was tireless in her support for and commitment to her children's intellectual, physical and spiritual development. Geri is survived by her children Johanne Dyerly (Steve), Ron (Thomas) and Ric, her grandchildren Kevin (Jennie), Kellie (Luke) and Willa (Zack), and her great-grandchildren Ainsley, Hadley, Ewing, Sydney and Bellamy. She will be remembered fondly by them as well as the many other family and friends whose lives she touched with her love, generosity and humor. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to donate to the University of Redlands, 1200 E. Colton Ave., Redlands, CA 92373-0999. The Alma mater to not just Geri but also her husband Ewing, daughter Johanne and grandson Kevin. A private service will be held according to her wishes.
