So sad hear of Dr. Misbach's passing. I was medivaced out of Akiachak in 5/11. I was very fortunate to have him as my surgeon. He performed a triple bypass. It was successful. So grateful to Dr. Misbach
He called my wife in California. What a wonderful and caring person and doctor. I know this way late but never knew.

After Dr Misbach retired he came in for one last case, to save my life, a nurse in my 50´s. Just before the surgery, I prayed for Dr. M that God bless his giving self as I appreciated his gift of life which God granted. I will forever pray for Dr. M and in his honor, I too will pay it forward as a nurse in Anchorage pass my retirement years.

What a guy! Greg lockered next to me in Telluride. He was so excited when he got back last spring after skiing his seventh continent, like a little kid. Always joyous, curious, and loving life. I hope I manage to live life as fully as Greg did, to the end.

The Celebration of Greg's life was full of family, friends, love and the stories of Greg we knew or learned for the first time, the best as was he. Thank you for sharing all of it with us. Going to high school and college with Greg was a long time ago but the Reunions in the past few years brought back great times when we could conquer anything. Greg kept that alive and now in Stephanie and Eric and four grandchildren. We send our heartfelt love to you and for Greg's impactful life.

I am an old friend of Greg's when we were at UCLA. Spent a lot of fun times in LA, SF, Utah, Wyoming and Illinois. I can't believe he is gone. Greatest sympathy to the family and especially Virginia who was so sweet to me. He was a wonderful friend and gentleman.
With deepest sympathy.

Greg was a passionate skier and life long learner. We knew him too few years on staff with us at the Telluride Ski School, but none the less he left a positive impression on both the guests that he worked with and peers he taught side by side with. He will be remembered by many for years to come.

I began my nursing career 20+ years ago at St Bernadine Medical Center where you were one of the CV surgeons. From day one, you were always willing to teach, never refusing or denying an opportunity to help one grow. Furthermore, you were always approachable and your voice reassured all that no question was ever off the table. I will forever be thankful for your kindness and willingness to teach me. You will be missed Dr. Misbach. The heavens have parted their gates to receive a one-of-a-kind angel. May you ski the heavens and swim their oceans endlessly.

In high school, Greg inspired wisdom among kids. In retirement, he inspired play among peers. It seems, wisdom and play were life-long gifts. And he had a knack for being memorable. That will never change. Carry on, Greg...

Dr. Misbach was a truly classy, intelligent, kind man and great surgeon. I worked with him in the OR at St. Bernardine Medical Center. I had the pleasure of getting to know him better in his retirement years and I was so impressed at how much he was enjoying being a ski instructor and climbing mountains. His face always lit up when he talked about all of his activities and plans for his next adventure. My sincerest condolences to his beloved family and all of his fellow friends and associates who also thought so highly of him.
