Of Redlands, passed away at home during her sleep in the early hours of May 28, 2013. She was born in Iowa on July 16, 1931 to Ruth and Francis Jacobsen and had one brother (the late) Donald Jacobsen. RuthAnn was a long-time resident of Redlands, a city she truly loved. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and taught school for a short time in Iowa, before moving to Redlands in 1958. After raising her two children she worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for several local businesses including Redlands Print Shop and O.W.L. Associates. She was very much involved with the Friends of Bill W. for 31 years, and had a deep love for the people she worked and grew with. Outside of her family and friends, RuthAnn loved three things: cats, flowers and football – not necessarily in that order! She loved all things football – USC and Iowa being her favorite teams, she loved her garden and there was no question she loved her "furry babies" as she called Jake, Bella and Dolly, but most of all she loved spending time with friends and family. RuthAnn wasn't afraid to try new things - she was a texting fiend and even had a Facebook page! RuthAnn leaves a multitude of cherished memories for her children, Ann (Tom) Lucenti and Jason (Alison) McKinstry and grandchildren Jeff and Justin Lucenti, and Alexis and Jaden McKinstry. A Celebration of RuthAnn's life will be held this Saturday, June 1 at 1:00pm at Cortner Chapel located at 221 Brookside Avenue in Redlands, CA.
