Clyde McHenry Obituary

Clyde "Marlin" McHenry, 79, Red Oak, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.
Marlin was born Sept. 1, 1942, in Red Oak, the son of Clyde and Valentine (Schaffer) McHenry. He was raised in Red Oak, attended Wales School, and graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1961. He worked after graduation until serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam.
He met his future wife in California while in the Marines and was united in marriage to Kathleen Creecy on July 2, 1966, in Garden Grove, Calif. From this union three children were born, Mark, Kellie, and Matthew. They made their home in Red Oak. Marlin was later married to Jan Turk and eventually divorced. Over the years, Marlin worked for JD Oil Company, Eveready Battery Company until it closed, Nicholstone Book Bindery, D & L, and Oakland Beef Packing before retiring.
He raced stock cars in his younger years and loved working on cars. Marlin also enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, fishing, traveling, and was an avid Ford fan. He was known to have a great sense of humor and was quite the jokester.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and sister, Beverly White.
