Rex L. McHenry, age 69, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the family he loved so much. Born on December 8, 1956, he spent his life devoted to the things that mattered most to him – his family, the outdoors, and the simple joys of good company.
He found joy in hunting, had a lifelong appreciation for guns and the outdoors, and felt most at peace in nature. He also had a soft heart for animals, caring for them with patience and gentleness.
A true car enthusiast, Rex loved anything with wheels and horsepower. Whether he was talking about cars, working on them, or simply admiring a classic model, it always brought a spark to his eyes.
Above all, family was the center of his world. Rex was quick to lend a hand, slow to judge, and endlessly proud of those he loved. His warmth and big heart made him someone others were drawn to, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Colleen McHenry; daughter, Jessica Shipley; son, Rex McHenry; and granddaughter, Sabrina Shipley.
Rex is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rick McHenry.
Arrangements are entrusted to Lamiell Funeral Home, where the family welcomes friends and loved ones to share memories and celebrate Rex’s life at www.lamiellfuneralhome.com.
