Jolene Johnson Obituary

Jolene Louise Johnson, 68, Stanton, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at her home after a brief illness.
Jolene was born April 27, 1954, in Red Oak, the daughter of Ray and Margaret (Longinaker) Platt. She attended Red Oak Community Schools and later received her GED. She worked for JD Café for 15 years and then the Farmers Coop for 30 years, retiring in 2016. Jolene was united in marriage to Allan Johnson on May 29, 1982, in New Market. They lived many years in Stanton. Jolene enjoyed the outdoors, doing yard work, and fishing and boating. She also loved spending time with her family, laughing, and going to the casino.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and brother, Clarence Dean Platt.
Survivors include her husband, Allan "Rabbit" Johnson of Stanton; children, Carrie Johnson of Hopkinton; Tracey Johnson of Villisca; and Yvonnie Gord of Dakota City; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Malousek of Aurora, Neb.; brothers, Michael "Mickey" Platt of Red Oak, and Merlin Platt of Red Oak; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service was held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date at the Guss, Iowa Cemetery.
