Stephen Grant Collins
HIGH POINT — Stephen Grant Collins died Jan. 13, 2015
The funeral was Saturday at First Baptist Church in Red Springs. Burial followed in Alloway Cemetery.
He was born in Robeson County on Oct. 2, 1941 to the late Roy Lee Collins and Lois Johnson Collins. He graduated from Red Springs High School and Robeson Community College, where he earned a degree in HVAC. He served in the United States Navy on the USS America aircraft carrier. He was manager at Electronics Unlimited, District Manager for Central Park and worked with the Pembroke Housing Authority before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Smith Collins. He is survived by a daughter, Julie Collins Wooten, and husband, Robbie, of High Point; a son, Jason Grant Collins, and wife, Melinda, of Greensboro; a brother, Reverend Bobby Collins, and wife, Joyce of Dunn; a brother, Ernie Collins, of Pembroke; and grandchildren, Ashton Lyn Wooten and Robert Ethan Wooten, of High Point, and his special grand-dog, Snickers.
Memorials may be made to the Hayworth Cancer Center, c/o High Point Regional Health Foundation, PO Box HP-5, High Point, NC 27261.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Boles Funeral Home in Red Springs.
