Kristi Lecy Obituary

The funeral service for Kristi Lecy, 62, of Apple Valley, will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Rock Dell Lutheran Church in rural Belview. Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 8 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and Tuesday from 10 – 11 a.m. at Rock Dell Lutheran Church. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery. Masks are required at all indoor events and social distancing guidelines will be followed. A recording of the service will be available at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. On Wednesday, March 31, 2021, Kristi Norma Lecy, loving mother of three children, passed away at the age of 62 unexpectedly at her home in Florida. Kristi was born on January 6, 1959, to Gayle and Norma (Pederson) Lecy in Granite Falls.
Kristi grew up on a farm near Echo where she was baptized and confirmed at Rock Dell Lutheran Church. She went on to graduate from Echo High School before moving closer to the Twin Cities to begin her professional career. She studied for one semester at Bethany Lutheran College before eventually transferring to the University of Minnesota to complete her Bachelor's degree. She continued her education at Bethel University where she received her Master's degree. Kristi's career included positions within the Granite Falls Bank, Echo-Wood Lake Public School, Southwest West Central Service Cooperative-Marshall, and the University of Minnesota where she was a proud employee for 34 years, with her final position being an Administrative Director, before retiring on January 15, 2021. She most recently resided in Apple Valley.
Recently retired, Kristi began picking up old hobbies and learning new ones as she welcomed this new chapter into her life. This includes acrylic painting, becoming an active member at her local gym, planning more time at Lake Amelia and beginning the move down to her home in Florida where she could escape Minnesota winters. She was known for her affectionate personality, joyful laugh, and caring soul.
Kristi was blessed with three children – Chantelle, Cory, and Adam, coming from her two marriages, the first with Brad Kurtz and the second with David Iskierka. She loved being a mom to her "little ducklings" and being there to support them as they grew older. Kristi is survived by her two sons – Cory Iskierka of Andover and Adam Iskierka of Ramsey; significant other, Ron Devine of Apple Valley; father, Gayle Lecy of Echo; brothers – Greg (Becky) Lecy of Lynd, Doug (Dawn) Lecy of Echo, Steve (Marsha) Lecy of Echo; sister, Julie (Jeff) Anderson of Cass Lake; nieces and nephews – Ross Lecy of Minneapolis, Andy Lecy of Clifton, Colo., Abigail Lecy of Minneapolis, Kirsten (Cameron) Jurgenson of Boyd, Megan (Garrett) Fratzke of Oakland, Calif., Molly (Seth) Sparks of Belview, Dillon Lecy and fiancée Alyssa Raiber of Belview, Anna (Steve) Risa of Clarkfield, Kyle (Tiffany) Lecy of Echo, Denver Lecy of Echo, Tom (Jenessa) Anderson of Gillette, Wyo., Tony Anderson and fiancée Emily Pfeifle of Gillette, Stacey Anderson of Highmore, S.D.; and other extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Chantelle Kurtz; and mother, Norma Lecy.
Blessed be her memory.
