Martha A. Sandgren, 91, of Redwood Falls passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Ren-Villa Health Center in Renville. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with Livestream on the church's YouTube page. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was in Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery in Redwood Falls. Online condolences may be sent at

Martha was born April 13, 1934, on the family farm in Willow Lake Township, Redwood County, to Gustav and Martha (Zick) Fennern. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Willow Lake Township. Martha graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1952. On June 28, 1952, Martha was united in marriage to Floyd Sandgren at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. After Floyd received his discharge from the U.S. Army, the couple made their home in Redwood Falls. Martha worked as an agronomist for Dekalb and Monsanto for over 50 years. She also helped at Floyd's Service Station with the bookwork for many years. She was very active in her church. She taught Sunday school, was a youth leader and a member of the Vesper Guild. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary in her younger years. Martha enjoyed gardening, bowling and baking. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake and fishing. She spent a lot of her time taking care of her grandkids, and loved attending their events. She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves.
Martha is survived by her sons Jeff (Mavis), Jim (Karen), both of Redwood Falls, and John (Renae) of Olivia; grandchildren: Tyler (Kaylynn), Trevor (Anna Hoffman) and Tara Sandgren, Brennen, Devon (Becca Danich), Abi (Jon Sweetman), Cameron and Easton Sandgren, Logan (Melissa), Jaden (Maleia), Hudson Sandgren, Chevelle (Austin) Macik and Lane and Cole Slagter; great-grandchildren: Natalie and Noah Sandgren, J.J. Sweetman, Remi Macik and Nora Sandgren; sister Zerelda Dahms of Redwood Falls; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd, and brothers: Norman, Leon, Don and Ivan Fennern.
