Brenda Witmer

AYDEN - Brenda Witmer, 55, living in Ayden, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Williamsburg Memorial Park, Va. She was a softspoken and humble servant of Christ, always willing to open her heart to God and His will. Brenda lived her life loving other people, especially her children, and would do anything to help someone that she could. Difficult circumstances, such as living with blindness and mental and physical handicaps, still could not hinder or mask her kind and God-loving spirit; she remained a faithful servant of Christ. She struggled her entire life to strive to be the best mother and role model to her children, which she accomplished fully just by being the person that she was here on earth. She is survived by her children: Christina Kogut, 28, of Greenville, Brody Witmer, 25, 101st Airborne, Fort Campbell, Ky. (now stationed in Iraq) and Jason Witmer, 21, of Hamburg, Pa.; grandson, Aaron Brody Witmer; and father, Harvey Wallace Stapleton of Alaska. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Flowers are welcomed, but due to many circumstances, thoughtful donations toward her final expenses would be appreciated just as much. Arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory.
