Caldwell Bady, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, at The University of Virginia Medical Center.
Over the last several years he had found enjoyment in studying the bible and listening to his favorite hymns such as “He promised me a home over there, no more sorrow and sickness”.
Caldwell was born on September 9, 1951 to the late Mary Jane Bady.
He was raised in Staunton, Virginia and attended the Staunton School Systems.
In February 1969, Caldwell’s friend, Philips Brown (Bunny) convinced Caldwell to join the United States Marines under the Buddy Program. Following his time in the Marines, he returned to Staunton to work at Sears. He finally found his calling as a brick layer, he attended the brick layer school for one year in Crew Virginia. He even started his own brick layering business. Caldwell was employed by Wal-Mart earning the nickname “King Walmart” for over twenty years and worked in various departments. Several years later, he was diagnosed with renal failure. This diagnosis led to him being on dialysis.
He enjoyed doing home projects with his hands and tools, watching sports, family gatherings, talking with friends, and walking his dog, Prince.
He was preceded in death by his mother; daughter, Tanika Wells; mother-in-law, Dorothy Randolph; two sisters, Dixie Reed and Alee Bady; niece, Robin Michelle Bady and nephew, Sony Bady.

Blessings and love to the entire Bady family. Mike and I first met Caldwell around 15 years ago at a Wedding Tea given for his niece Angela and our son Eric. We are sad to hear about him passing, but find comfort that he is no longer suffering with illness, and is with our Heavenly Father. Mary Ann & Mike McCreery
