Cecil Dupree Obituary

Mr. Cecil James Dupree, 63, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Cecil was a native of Falkland and attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Beatrice Dupree; two brothers, Theodore R. Dupree and Charlie Dupree Jr.; and a sister, Norice Knight.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Angela Brown Dupree; son, Otis O. Dupree and wife, Kathleen, of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Marsha Dupree Butler and husband, Survane, of Virginia Beach, Va.; granddaughters, Jordyn C. Butler and Brianna M. Dupree; brother, Douglas Dupree and wife, Mandy, of Falkland; five sisters, Hattie Vines and husband, Charles, and Amanda Vines of Norwalk, Conn., Joyce Redd and husband, Fred, Minerva Freeman and husband, Arthur, and Lois Dupree, all of Falkland; father-in-law, Fornie Brown Jr. of Greenville; five sisters-in-law, Diane Smith and husband, William, of Rocky Mount, Carolyn Tillery and husband, Austin, Portia O'Pharrow and husband, Richard, Phyllis White and husband, Hubert, and Jo-Ann Freeman and husband, Arthur, all of Greenville; a special "son," Jimmy Condrey of Tarboro. Cecil also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
At Cecil's request, there will not be a funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers and food, please consider making a donation to the Joy Soup Kitchen, 700 Albemarle Ave., Greenville, NC 27834.
Arrangements entrusted to Hemby-Willoughby Funeral Home.

Dear Angela and family, I am so sorry to hear of Cecil's passing. I only met you once, when you came by the house with Cecil. Taylor and Cecil used to ride to work together, several years back and I really thought he was a nice man. May God Bless You and Your Family at this time with Peace & Comfort.. May he rest in peace!
