GREENVILLE - Mrs. Constance Upton Nichols, 86, died Tuesday October 2, 2018 surrounded by her family at home.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Home. The family asks that you wear a stylish hat in her memory.

Mrs. Nichols, a native of Elizabeth City, had been a resident of Greenville consistently since 1972. She lived an exciting life prior to that traveling around the world. She was a long term member of the Salvation Army and had many friends at the M.W.F 9:30 - 10:30 am. Pitt County Senior exercise class, and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church where she volunteered for many years at both the church and the school. In her travels she spoke fluent Spanish. She helped raise both grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to dress to the "9s" in her fancy hats.

She is survived by her: brother, William Eugene Upton and wife, Karen, of Cummings GA; daughter, Patricia Lynn Nichols of Greenville, NC; son, Anthony L. Nichols and wife, Mary, of Reidsville, GA; granddaughter, Jessica M. Nichols of Dayton, OH, and Dana Nichols Smith and husband, Kevin of Greenville, NC; grandson, Paul Lee Nichols and wife, Helen, of Hamilton, Canada, great-grandchildren, Julianna Haller, Megan Lea Smith, Ethan Alexander Smith, Allison Noelle Smith, and Grant Wyatt Lee Nichols.
