Although we were in the same class at TJ, I did not know David very well. But I do know many people liked him very much. I am saddened that his life was cut so short. My deepest sympathies to his family. I am also apologetic for my late response, but I've been distracted as my mother passed recently as well.

My family knew the Ozag family going back to when the children in each family were kids. Dave was always, even as a kid, intelligent, hard-working, kind, generous, fun, spirited and academic. Throughout his life, he demonstrated amazing abilities as an academic, professor, teacher, mentor, administrator, director, executive, family member, community member, civic leader, friend, socially active person, and a leader. That's a lot, but that's exactly what Dave brought to life. He excelled in each area, too. He influenced many people, helped many people, led many people and, of course, he taught many people. That's just a great life, and a great list of serious accomplishments. Many, many people will remember Dave and will miss him. In recent years, I was fortunate enough to re-connect with Dave through our fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau, where Dave held a position known as Domain Director, which is a regional director who oversees several fraternity chapters. He was a leader and an influence in Phi Kappa Tau, also, and of course, he'll be sorely missed there. Dave never stopped working, creating, learning and leading--and that was an inspiration to many people. We'll all miss him, and remember him. Sympathies and condolences to Joe and his family, and to everyone who knew and worked with David Ozag. And thanks to Dave for all of his years of dedication, generosity, kindness and hard work.

David has been a friend since 1982. He went to school and played sports with my husband and his brother.
He coached with my husband at TJ High School. He was my boss at 1st Nationwide. He was the one I turned to when I needed a letter of recommendation.
I considered him one of my very best friends.

I met David while we both were studying for our Masters degree at Mt. St. Mary's University. We struck up a friendship and continued it through our employment at Standard Federal - with David becoming my boss! He was a wonderful guy and I admired him very much. David, may you rest in peace!

Although I only worked with David a short time at Habitat For Humanity, I realized he was a very special person. We worked together to move to a new office in Frederick. Shortly after the move, David decided to return to teaching. He was always kind and very dedicated. I know that many people will miss him. He was truly an inspiration to me.

Ozag. Thank you for being the kind, generous, and positive person you were. I remember the night of the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, it was probably 20 degrees outside. I had forgotten to bring gloves and without mentioning it or drawing attention to yourself, you went and bought me gloves from the souvenir stand. That's the kind of person you were, and the kind of person I hope to be.

I met David very recently at the Phi Kappa Tau Conclave in Oxford, Ohio. He was very giving of his time and knowledge to me as relatively new entrant into the management staff as a Domain Director, a position that David had previously held. He was kind and giving and will be missed by our Circle of Brotherhood. Deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Dr. Ozag was an extraordinary scholar and a magnificent teacher. He inspired students to have passion for their studies, to think independently and argue constructively and compassionately. He was the first professor I had at Hood College in 2009 and solidified my decision that getting an MBA was the right choice for me. I will never forget his intriguing questions, inspirational advice and promise that he would advise his students even if they were no longer in school. He will be greatly missed. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
