Don Warren Obituary

Mr. Don Redden Warren Sr., 80, passed away on Saturday, Oct.4, 2014.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Warren was a native of Pitt County and a veteran of the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of the Midway Grill in Pactolus for 37 years. He was a member of the Ruritan Club of Pactolus and Pactolus Baptist Church. Don was an avid sports fan, NASCAR fan, and enjoyed coaching his grandchildren's sport teams. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his vegetables with friends and neighbors. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Seay, and his brothers, A.G., Charlie and Leroy Warren, and John and Freddy Morrisette; and sisters, Lessie Morgan, Reba Williams, Nellie Hudson, Helen Sawyer and Tomenah Hudson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Mills Warren; son, Don R. Warren Jr. of Pactolus; daughter, Donna Warren Hardy and husband, Allen, of Washington; grandchildren, David Hardy, Jenna Hardy, Cameron Warren and Charley Warren; great-grandchildren, Grace Gaskins and Ethan Crisp; sister, Marion Morrisette; brothers, Warren Morisette, Terry Seay and Gene Seay.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pactolus Baptist Church, 5980 U.S. 264 East, Greenville, NC 27834.

Mr. Don will be missed. He was an outstanding man and has a great family. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of loss.

Very sorry to hear of Don passing. My family grew up at Midway Grill (new and old one)It was always a treat to eat there. Community will certainly be different. Thoughts are with your family. God Bless!

Peggy, and family, I send you my love and prayers. I loved Don from when I taught him through the last hamburger I bought for my grandchildren who thought going to "Don's" for lunch was as great as it gets. Love to you all. Katheryn Lewis
