Frank Trefny Obituary

Frank Trefny AYDEN - Frank Trefny, 97 died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at his residence. Service will be 12:30 p.m. today at St. Peters Catholic Church, 2700 East 4th Street, Greenville. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park He was a retired Electrical Supervisor with Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Va. Mr. Trefny was a retired CW2 with the Virginia Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Virginia Trefny in October, 1996. He is survived by two sons; James Trefny and wife, Suzanne, of Kill Devil Hills, Dr. Frank A. Trefny and wife, Sharon, of Kingstree, S.C.; a daughter, Patricia Dix of the home; a brother, John Trefny of Lititz, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Scott Trefny and wife, Valerie, of Danbury, Conn., Cathy Trefny of Kingstree, S.C., Christine Trefny Schwartz and husband, Cdr. Roc. of Columbia, S.C., Cheryl Ann Butts and husband, Michael, of Pennsylvania, Craig Trefny and wife, Sharon, of Florence, S.C., Megan Bracy and husband, Scott, of Portsmouth, Va., Pamela Embrey and husband, Scott, of Richmond, Va., Trefny Dix and Bengt Hokanson of Burnsville, Elizabeth Dix of Whitefish, Mont.; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends today from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Farmer Funeral Home and other times at 3908 North Hills Drive, Ayden. Arrangements by Farmer Funeral Service, Ayden.
