I am so thankful to have had such a wonderful uncle!Always a calm friendly smile very welcoming! As a little girl to go to the Christmas party in the basement. A swell time filled with my cousins and fun.
I went East Detroit High School and would countless times be asked any relation to Fred Woelkers?
Of Course I proudly announce and he has 15 kids too!
All were admires of his service for the park and rec, dept and what a top notch man he was.
It was nice as I was new to the schools of east det. I had been sent to live with my dad and knew not a sole!
The summers at uncle b
Bobs lake their would be the aunts and uncles playing volleyball and their was my dad and unlce fred and uncle Lou to be sure out their with us cousins. Those were the days. Aunt Salley and aunt Heleen stuck with Grandma and cooking or in the screened room they escaped from us kids and enjoyed their family time with each other. What a first class man. Our familys version of the Waltons!
I really miss him and the cousins,

Then the stories about the lake would follow playing a mean Volleyball game aunts and uncles and cousins too!My teachers always spoke highly of uncle Fred, and all the good he did for East Detroit!!
I will deeply miss uncle Fred, my love to your family.

Dearest Aunt Sally and Cousins, Through your love of each other your Family will endure the loss of Uncle Fred, Your Husband, Your Father. I will always fondly remember Him as a man of gentle conviction with a loving kindness in His heart. What was spoken in His words of wisdom, and His life experiences, was a blessing to me through the years I had the honor of talking with Him. I will always remember Uncle Fred as a Man of Godly Character and a hard worker for His Family, and a fellow Veteran in Arms. God Bless all of you and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
