Geneva Ritchie Obituary

Geneva B. Ritchie AYDEN - Geneva Bryan Ritchie, 88, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007. She was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Craven County to the late John Henry and Lillie Fields Bryan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Shellie Frank Ritchie. "Aunt Ginny"as she was affectionately called, was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be remembered as a caregiver and a very compassionate person. She was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress, and was a member of Ayden Original Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her church family very much. Survivors include her daughter, Ann Smith and husband, Randall, of Greenville; sons, Shellie F. Ritchie Jr. of Kinston and Reuben Fields Ritchie and wife, Vivian, of Wilmington; grandchildren, April Lynn Murchison and Bryan Randall Smith. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday at Garner Funeral Home, Kinston. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Grubbs officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Wintergreen Original F.W.B. Church Cemetery in Cove City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caswell Center Foundation, Inc., 101 Pecan Lane, Kinston, NC 28501. Arrangements by Garner Funeral Home.
