Sandra Tripp

1942 - 2026

Sandra (McCrary) Tripp Winterville - Sandra McCrary Tripp, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11am in the Smith Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Ayden Cemetery.

Sandra was born and raised in Staunton, VA before moving to Ayden as a child. She was a graduate of Bob Jones University and was employed with Sunshine Garden Center; Raynard, Forbes, & Clark Tobacco Market; and retired from Computerland.

She enjoyed going back to Staunton to spend time at her childhood home and loved going to Ocracoke. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, riding the golf cart, and she loved squirrels and birds. Sandra had beautiful handwriting and was talented at writing calligraphy. She loved her Lord and was a member of People's Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antrim and Violet Carter.

Sandra was a devoted and loving wife who is survived by her husband of 63 years, Mack H. Tripp, with whom she shared an unparallelled devotion. Their legacy of love will be carried forward by their children, Eric Tripp (Linda) of Grimesland, Lori Hines (Linwood) and Amber Farquhar (Pat), all of Winterville; grandchildren, Linwood Hines (Lenelle), Hannah Hines (David), Jonathan Tripp, Katie Turner (Nick), Melena Tripp, and Lauren Segre (Sean); and great-grandchildren, Harlyn, Tucker, Eleanor, Ryder, Fuller, Otto, Milo, Scarlett, and Mason. She loved without condition, cared for her family and her sweet smile could bring comfort to them all.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to her caregiver, Kim Haggard, for her tireless dedication, love and care. She was not just a caregiver but also a true friend to Sandra and her family and we love her dearly.
