Anne Redmon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory - Greenville on Mar. 15, 2026.
Anne Marie (Bossack) Redmon of Winterville, NC has passed into eternal life.

Anne Marie lived her early life in Bergen County, NJ. She and John (Rich) raised their family in West Orange, NJ and enjoyed many years of family reunions and activities with grandchildren at their vacation home on Lake Anna, VA. In 2016, they moved to Winterville, NC.

Anne Marie was above all a caretaker for most of her life, caring for her family and so many others. She worked as a special education teacher in Bergenfield NJ after graduating from Newark State College in 1965, then returned to work as an elementary school teacher in Livingston NJ Public Schools when her children were older. She taught religious education classes at Our Lady of the Valley in Orange then St. Raphael's parish in Livingston, NJ. She brought communion to the homebound, led small prayer groups, volunteered with Birthright, and, along with John, served on the parish PreCana ministry.

She loved to host family gatherings in their homes in West Orange and Lake Anna, where her children and grandchildren enjoyed many happy summers. Anne Marie and John loved to travel with their family, including two cross-country road trips. Later, she and John traveled to Europe, Canada, Puerto Rico, and throughout the U.S., including their favorite city of San Diego, CA.

In Winterville, Anne Marie volunteered with the Paramore Social Committee and Newcomers Committee. She enjoyed a regular Mah Jong group and her grandchildren's games and meets. She was glad to attend so many grandchildren's high school or college graduations.

Anne Marie is survived by her children Elizabeth (Deacon Thomas) McDonald of Medford, NJ; John Richard (Janet) Redmon Jr. of Suwanee, GA; and Christine (Michael) Lysaght of Winterville, NC; her brother Fredrick (Barbara) Bossack of Georgetown, SC, her sisters-in-law Janet Bossack of Budd Lake, NJ and Cam Northup (Michael) of Laguna Woods, CA, and brothers-in-law A. Leigh Redmon of Scranton, PA and Carl Monroe (Cynthia) of Lake Suzy, FL. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Brendan and Margaret McDonald, Ian (Katie) Fisher, Abby (Patrice) Dougé, Kelsie (Grant) Dickinson, Hannah and Emily Redmon; Jake (fiancé Anna), Kate, Jon, and Drew Lysaght, and 3 great-grandchildren, Sage and Daisy Dougé and Hayes Fisher. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children. Anne Marie was predeceased by her husband of nearly 59 years, John Richard Redmon, Sr., her parents Edwin R. and Evelyn (Camp) Bossack, her sisters Evelyn Maynard and Mary Bossack, and brother Paul Bossack.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to one of Anne Marie's favorite charities Blood Cancer United (in honor of her sister Mary) or Breakthrough1TD (in honor of grandchildren).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 pm on Wednesday March 18, 2026 at St Peter's Catholic Church, 2700 E 4th St, Greenville, NC 27858. Anne Marie's family will receive visitors following the Mass in St. Peter's Spiritual Life Center. Interment will be private in NJ.
