Mr. John Andrews Harrison, 94, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM in Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

John grew up in the Bear Grass Community and attended Bear Grass High School. At the age of 60, he went back to school and completed his GED. He worked for many years at Long's Manufacturing as a Tool and Die Maker. He retired from Hyster-Yale at the age of 72 as a machinist. John was a sports and racing enthusiast. He enjoyed going to drag races and NASCAR races. He had a lifelong love of baseball and was an avid fan of Duke basketball. Most importantly, he cherished time spent with his family.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Bullock Harrison; parents, Slade and Betsy Harrison; daughter, Joyce Bullock Campbell; brothers, Jim Henry, Odell, Andy, and Robert Harrison; and sister, Beatrice Marie Harris.

He is survived by his daughter, Millie Kelley of Washington; son, Jackie Harrison (Linda) of Williamston; grandchildren, James Mendenhall (Amy), Kassie Jones, Matthew Kelley, Jessi Kelley, Brock Harrison (Abby), and Lauren Ward (Lane); great-grandchildren, Jamey Rawls (Thomas), Kayla Jones, Nora Paul, Grayson Harrison, Sophie Harrison, and Ridge Harrison; great-great-grandchildren, Easton Carter Rawls, Kenleigh Strickland, and Grayson Strickland; and sister, Betty Jean Whitley (Ronnie) of Columbia.
