Hubert Terry Cottle

COLERAIN, NC - Hubert Terry Cottle, affectionately known as Terry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at ECU Health Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, North Carolina. Born on September 18, 1951, in Burgaw, North Carolina, Terry was 74 years old at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Earl and Annie Mae Norris Cottle. Terry dedicated 27 years of his career to the North Carolina Department of Transportation before retiring. He was a man of many passions and interests which included spending cherished moments with his grandchildren, always attending their ball games and especially enjoying watching them play baseball.

Terry had a profound love for pier fishing at the coast and took great pleasure in cracking pecans. An avid fan of "Walker, Texas Ranger," he found joy in both the show and helping others by programming scanners. Terry enjoyed coloring and took pride in being the family's "Mr. Fix-It" handyman. A loyal companion, his cherished fur baby, Dixie, was always by his side. Though Terry has taken his final journey, he will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shelby Hatcher Cottle; sons, Kevin Cottle and wife Briana of Colerain, NC, and Darren Cottle and wife Stephanie of Williamston, NC. Terry leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Alden Cottle, Noah Cottle, Chance Cottle, and Madilyn Cottle. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Mirchandani and her husband Mike of Raleigh, NC, nieces Shannon Stinnett and her husband Mike of Wake Forest, NC, Kishni Holley and her husband Andrew of Wake Forest, NC, and Jennifer Mirchandani of Raleigh, NC, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Terry's life will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, NC, with Pastor Tim Parker and Pastor Roger Leggett officiating, including Military Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior, at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of his son, Kevin and Briana Cottle.
