Jack Allen Farrior

FARMVILLE - Jack Allen Farrior, 82, of Farmville, died April 7, 2018, with his daughters by his side.
He was a longtime resident of Farmville and he lived his life serving others. He loved God and his country most. He served in the army in his early life. He served as deacon, elder and cook of Farmville Presbyterian Church. He also served on boards of many civic organizations in Pitt County and Farmville, including Boys Scouts of America, Economic Development Council, Chamber of Commerce, Pitt-Greenville Airport Authority and many others. He gave unselfishly of his time to serve in many capacities.
His love for cooking touched so many lives. He was happiest when entertaining and cooking for large groups including the Boy Scouts, his church and the Annual Farrior-Flanagan Fourth of July celebration, with his best friend Harold Flanagan, that so many loved for 40 years. He spent his lifetime working in the construction business, first Farrior & Sons, Inc., then Jack A. Farrior Steel Works, Inc., that he, his father, and brother started in 1962.
Mr. Farrior was born March 25, 1936, in Goldsboro, son of Hugh and Mary Lee Farrior. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Wooten Farrior; brother, William Haywood Farrior and wife, Marlene, of Washington, N.C.; two daughters, Terri Farrior Cundiff and husband, Sam, of Roanoke, Va., and Susan Farrior and husband, Marc Cannon, of Farmville; five grandchildren, Kirsten Cundiff, Hugh Cundiff and wife Brooke, and Dustin, Cody and Jackson Cannon; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted at Farmville Presbyterian Church on at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, with visitation following the service. Family will receive visitors at the home of Susan Farrior, 8373 Stantonsburg Road, Farmville, N.C.
