James Bowden Obituary
Mr. Bowden was retired Supervisor with Cox Trailers. Graveside service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Estates officiated by the Rev. David Cox.
Mr. Bowden is survived by his special friend, Vickie Daniels of the home; son, James Edward Bowden of Ayden; stepson, Tony Avery of Ayden; two daughters, Janie B. Spikes and husband, Glen, of Grifton, and Billie Jo Bowden and fiance, Chad Reel, of Ayden; two brothers, Linwood Bowden and Wilbert Bowden, both of Farmville; two sisters Cathy Worthington of Farmville and Janie Beyers of Bailey; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at Farmer Funeral Home, Ayden and other times at 1665 Rock Road, Grifton. Flowers are welcome but donations may be made to Mr. Bowden's Funeral Fund, c/o Farmers Funeral Home, 109 2nd St. Ayden, NC 28513.

I did not know you personally Mr. Bowden but I know you were a wonderful man to have the love and admiration that Billie Jo had for you. Thank you for your gift of her to all of us. May you forever rest in peace.

God saw you were getting tired and a recovery was not meant to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered come home with me. He needed another angel, he took the best, free from pain, now you can rest. Now you can be with your Mama, Daddy and Brothers again and I am sure Mama was waiting for you at the gates to get there. Give them all a big kiss and hug for me and tell them how much I love them. I love you Daddy! Between now and then until I see you again!
