To the family, I truly adored your Dad, and Grandfather. He loved his students at ECU and his colleagues, and was such a joy to know including his wife Anne who has passed. One thing I can say is no one ever said an unkind word about this wonderful man, and that says it all and he influenced many lives. He will be missed, but do know that we all have you in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Parnell was an amazing man. I was a horn student of his at East Carolina and I loved every minute of my time with him. My fondest memories of him include when we would carol for he and the lovely Mrs. Ann Parnell and then they would invite us in for hot chocolate and other goodies. What an incredible couple. I am thinking of you all during his difficult time.
