John Amabile Obituary

John Joseph Amabile Ayden - John Joseph Amabile moved on to his heavenly home on December 5, 2024, at the age of 75. He was a devoted husband of 50 years to his loving wife, Pauline. He is also survived by four children, eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Born and raised in New Jersey, John began his adult life studying art at Jersey City State College. His talents as an artist flourished with age and his work was admired by many. As a young man he loved hunting, fishing, and golfing.

After he and Pauline made their home in Ayden, North Carolina, he worked for 25 years at Beaufort County Hospital in materials management. He made many friends during his time there.

His love for art and the great outdoors only grew with retirement, spending many days in his studio or finding peace in the solitude of their wooded property. His sense of humor will be greatly missed. His quick wit was a cure and a comfort in a variety of circumstances.

The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11am at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Lay Carmelites will be leading a Rosary at 10:15 a.m. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service at the church. All are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society Greenville, 2700 E. 4th Street, Greenville, NC 27858.
